I initially felt so much anxiety about the question posed in this assignment, and it aggravated my deep fear that I am not smart – that everyone else immediately understood what this meant, and I didn’t. I started to go deep into a “I’m not fit for this program” spiral. But, I was able to hit pause on that. And I started dissecting the question, and talking to others, and trying to figure out what the heck it was even was trying to ask.
I really appreciated the opportunity to respond to this question in any way we liked because I think best in slide form and sometimes if I can’t even begin to wrap my head around something until I put it into a deck. This format helped me break apart each word and phrase and paraphrase it in regular language. I asked myself and answered follow-up questions to fill in the gaps. I ended up with a fascinating, straightforward question that I was ready to answer.
And I loved thinking about how to block and probe with onboarding! It’s one of the things I think about all the time – how can we help people become part of our team and strengthen the team in the process, and I think this helped me develop some ideas that I can implement and ways I can engage others to block and probe further. I think I may be up for a new role as “official onboarder” and if that is the case, look out world, we are going to have some onboarding fun.

I feel like I want to use your slide deck to teach this module in the future – it’s excellent. Also, I am someone who thinks in PPT to start. It really helps me organizing the key ideas I want to bring forward. Sometimes I start with an image if I can’t find the words …
